My family and I needed furniture after leaving the shelter and moving into our very own apartment. They not only provided us furniture but oh, my goodness! They placed pictures, put flower and vases down on the tables, they made our apartment a home. A place we were glad to come to and excited to invite friends and family. They furnished our entire home and designed it with all the décor, it was like walking into a model home. I can’t say thank you enough.

After my abuser broke in and continued to threaten me we were given Tabula Rasa Domestic Violence, Inc. number by 211. They stepped in and assisted us in getting in a safe place, provided us resources, moving us into our new place, and then furnished our new place and made it home. They stayed connected with our outside service too. Whenever I called and I do mean whenever, my call was answered and I was assisted. They made me feel like I was their only client even though they have an overflowing number of people for assistance. I am attached forever and always helping to give back. I was referred to Tabula Rasa Domestic Violence, Inc by a woman in a restaurant who knew I needed help. I called and immediately, went through the screening, intake, and they found me and my daughter a shelter. We went through their Life After Trauma program after leaving the shelter. I learned so much from this program. Words can’t describe how excited my daughter and I was when I informed Ms. Ross we were moving into our place. She coordinated with my landlord to bring the furniture to my new place. I thought we were just getting furniture but to my surprise, they had my place looking like a page out of a magazine. I had nothing and now a home looking like I had been there for years with every thing peaceful and comfortable. Bedrooms, kitchen, living room, bathroom, everything you could think you needed they provided. I walked in and couldn’t believe my eyes and cried. They filled our cabinets and refrigerator with food. We had Christmas presents and more. I am crying writing this.
